Parsi New Year (Navroz)

Given Navsari’s deep-rooted Parsi heritage, Navroz is celebrated with great elegance. The community gathers at the historic Desai Atash Bahram for special prayers. Homes are decorated with traditional “Chalk” (rangoli) and “Torans” (flower garlands), and families prepare classic feasts featuring dishes like Puliora and Sali Boti. It is a time for visiting the Fire Temples and honoring the community’s long-standing influence on the city.

A beautifully decorated chariot carrying Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra travels from the Navsari Railway Station to the ISKCON Mandir. The procession is marked by the rhythmic sounds of conch shells, kirtans, and thousands of devotees lining the streets to pull the sacred ropes.

Major temples like Unai Mata also host grand celebrations featuring “Maha Aarti” and traditional folk performances that attract thousands of devotees.
